Passaic County Department of Human Services, Mental Health & Addiction Services 
An umbrella social service agency concerned with the planning and funding services for the county’s disadvantaged and homeless citizens. The Division of Mental Health & Addiction Services receives state and county funding to ensure the availability of treatment services, particularly for the indigent. Their site lists numerous resources for mental health & addiction services including this downloadable list.

Assists many families and individuals conquer the challenges of mental illness. Provides advocacy, educational workshops, outpatient counseling, referrals, and respite services. Services are free.

Compensates victims of crime for losses and expenses resulting from certain criminal acts. Information and applications for VCCO are available on their site. 

Charity Care – New Jersey Hospital Care Payment Assistance Program (609) 376-0964
Available to patients for inpatient and outpatient services at all acute care hospitals throughout New Jersey. Medically necessary services may be eligible for patients who meet income and asset criteria. Applications are available at all NJ acute care hospitals. Eligibility determination is done at the hospital where the medical service is provided when the completed application is submitted.

SPCDC Emergency Men’s Shelter provides emergency housing, clothing, and food to as many as 40 homeless men per night.


CUMAC 973-742-5518
CUMAC offers a large, trauma-informed choice marketplace where guests are able to select the foods they need while being assisted by a volunteer that has attended a training on adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and resilience, conducted by CUMAC. Through an appointment-based system, guests are able to schedule appointments once a month to come to the Marketplace. CUMAC also offers free assistance with benefit application and permanent housing and 24 hours a day, seven days a week case management support to individuals experiencing chronic homelessness.

Victim Information and Notification Everyday (VINE) VINELink - New Jersey
NJ VINE is the Statewide Automated Victim Information and Notification service that provides free, confidential notifications about an offender’s custody status to victims, their families and concerned citizens. 

You may register for automated notifications 24 hours a day, seven days a week, over the phone at 1-877-VINE-4NJ or through this website/mobile app at VINElink. Notifications are available via phone, text, email, and TTY (hearing impaired) and are made when the custody status of an offender changes. 

The Department of Homeland Security offers DHS-VINE, which provides victims and witnesses with information on changes in the custody status of noncitizens. DHS-VINELink can be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to provide the most reliable information on custody status changes.

New Jersey Department of Correctios (NJ DOC)
Provides community access to selected offender information, including a feature that allows crime survivors to search for inmate custody status. NJ DOC's Offender Search Engine.

NJ DOC Office of Victim Services is devoted to protecting the rights of victims of crime and assisting them in obtaining meaningful services and locating appropriate resources throughout the community.

Parole Eligibility NJ State Parole Board 
The New Jersey State Parole Board encourages all crime victims, including the closest relatives of victims of murder or manslaughter, to play an active role in the parole process, to ensure the appointed Parole Board Members and staff are fully informed of the victims' concerns before parole decisions are made. Crime victims wishing to provide confidential testimony may register by phone at 609-292-4582 or online at NJ State Parole Board Office of Victim Services.
