Engagement

Community Engagement continues to be a priority within the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office. Prosecutor Camelia Valdes strives to bring together law enforcement leaders and community stakeholders with residents of Passaic County in an effort to promote important and timely discussions while providing information and explaining available resources.  Whether it is a 21/21 Event, in conjunction with the Office of the Attorney General, or a local event at a school, house of worship or community center, the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office continues to serve the Passaic County Community through these interactive forums.

The topics have included:  Use of Force, Elder Abuse, Sexual Assault, Dating and Domestic Violence, Bullying and Sexting, Immigration, Children Exposed to Adverse Child Experiences (ACEs),   Driving Under the Influence, Opioid Addiction and Recovery, Juvenile Justice and Bias Crimes.

EDUCATIONAL PRESENTATIONS:

Legal, Investigative, and Clerical Staff Members are available to speak with college, high school and middle school students about careers in law enforcement.  PCPO Staff discuss their own paths they took in becoming part of the PCPO team while offering practical examples and stressing the importance of community service and resume building.
