Multi Disciplinary Team

The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office is a member of the Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT). The MDT is a group of concerned and committed professionals from Passaic County law enforcement, child protective services, medical and mental health agencies, who meet regularly to conference child abuse cases and to coordinate responses and services to abused children and their families.

The MDT is led by a Coordinator, a member of the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, who offers individual assistance to children and coordinates efforts and services amongst the following agencies on the Team.

  • Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office
    •

    Investigates and prosecutes child abuse complaints through the criminal justice system

  • Division of Youth and Family Services

    • Investigates reports of child abuse and neglect and takes immediate action in order to ensure the safety of the child

  • Family Intervention Services

    • Provides therapy to abused children and their families

  • St. Joseph’s Hospital & Medical Center - Child Sexual Abuse Program

    • Provides medical examinations to sexually abused children between the ages of 0-18 years

  • Barnert Hospital Counseling Center

    • Offers comprehensive services to parents and children, specializing in assessment and treatment of victims of child abuse

  • Mental Health Clinic of Passaic

    • Provides mental health services to abuse victims and their families
