The Clerical Division has a total of 63 persons, consisting of secretarial support staff, Victim Witness counselors, and Prosecutor’s Agents. The assignments for the secretarial support staff vary greatly. Secretaries who work directly for trial and appellate attorneys type and file legal documents and assist in readying trial calendars. Secretaries assigned to investigative units type reports, search warrants, statements and transcribe tapes. They are on-call for the Homicide and Special Victims units if statements need to be taken after hours. Additional secretarial staff are assigned to a word processing center and the docket room, which maintains the files and official records for the office.

        Victim Witness counselors assist victims of crime and staff the Prosecutor’s Office of Victim Witness Advocacy. Specialized counselors in the area of child abuse, domestic violence and juveniles are available. Several of the counselors are bi-lingual in English and Spanish.

        Prosecutor’s Agents include retired police officers with current investigative responsibilities and paralegals who work in the Forfeiture and Megan’s Law units.
